Random Holiday

WARNING: If you find this post totally random, forgive me. As of typing time, it's, like, 1:27 in the morning.

Friday, 23rd December

This was the day when I had to wake up at an unthinkable hour (for the holidays, anyway) to do a project. Seriously, half past six in the morning? Who are you KIDDING me? But I had no choice, anyway. I had to get up and get dressed and troop to Rustans where my ever-lovely groupmates were waiting for me. So we rode a taxi to my house and did the project for 30 minutes, because we got lazy and decided to just have separate assignments, which we will compile later on. Like I said in my early post, I downed caffeine to perk myself up.

Later on, in the afternoon, I was whiling away the time until five, because that's when I thought the Fingal Christmas Party would be. Apparently I mixed up the time with Jehra's birthday bash, since at three-fifty-something, I received a call from Meg telling me to get ready since she's heading for my place already, to give me a ride. Needless to say, I panicked, so I threw on the first clothes I could see, turn the PC off immediately and asked Yaya to pack some Macaroni salad. Wow, I never thought I had the ability to get party-ready in five minutes. :-D Seriously, even I thought I looked glammed-up enough even with five minutes of preparation.

Had the party at Gabrielle's house, but sadly the people count was bust. Only Meg, Kimi, Miles and I came... and Gabey of course, since it was at her place. So we ate, watched this hilarious video in PinoyStyle, the Star Wars rap thing and played the Harry Potter trivia game. It was fun, only that Meg's mom picked us up rather early. Sad.

Saturday, 24th December, Christmas Eve

My mom had work off today, so at around noon, she took me and Nico to Robinsons for some self-holiday shopping. We met my grandfather there and we had lunch at Jollibee (Nico's doing, mind you). I tell you, the lines were seriously killing me - they were so bloody long they should be banned!

But I'm happy, since my mom bought me a lot of things. According to her, I was on a roll. Yup, sorry guys, that comes along with my being an expensive daughter. God, I'm expensive.

Okay, so my mom bought me...
  • A black Infinity top from Penshoppe. You know, that top that you can wear fourteen ways? I've been wanting that for so long, and it was only now that I actually got it. Hurrah.
  • A turquoise bolero. Why turquoise? Because I realized that I already had two white boleros and I have a pink one. I also wanted the black one, but I opted for the turquoise because it looks fun.
  • A pair of sparkly sandals, but I don't actually own these. They're my moms', and we've decided to share them, since God knows we share the same size.
  • A bandeau bra
  • A pack of Kiamoy!

Around three, we dropped by the house to get some things, and since we were going to give my grandfather a ride to his home in the South, we gave my Yaya a lift as well, since she was headed South for the Christmas. On the way, we dropped by the house of my lolo's brother, which technically makes him my other lolo, but it'll be hard to explain. Anyway, we dropped by just to pick some food for my lolo.

We stayed at my Lolo's house for an hour or so, because my brother played Family Computer with my cousins Lynn and Moriah. Eventually we had to leave since it was getting dark and we had to order take-out, because my mom did not cook anything.

So we went back to the city and headed to Laguna Garden, where we ordered Crispy Pata, Sotanghon, and Kare-Kare. While we waited for the food, we went to Ayala, which is beside the restaurant. We bought my brother KFC, because God knows he doesn't eat anything aside from fast food fried chicken, and we, as I put it, went on a wild goose chase because my brother SO insisted on buying a new watch even though the available watches were big. Needless to say, it tired me and mom out. Along with that, my brother also bought a Pinoy Big Brother shirt. Hehe.

I was supposed to buy a skirt that I have been eyeing for weeks, but the mall sadly had to close. ^.^ But I got a Kids World Alamanac 2006 anyway, from my aunt and uncle, so whoopee.

And lastly... we now have cable! Courtesy of Nico, of course, but still, yehey, even though I have not watched a whole hour of cable TV, because my dearest brother hogged the television. Darn, there goes my attempt at being civilized.

Sunday, December 25, Christmas Day

Kinda forgot what we did on Christmas Day... oh, right, my cousins Faye and Kyle came over (do you notice the pattern that we cousins are so, like, four letter names? Moriah is often called Ahya, which makes it four. And they call me Isha. Huh, only noticed that now). I got a new blouse from them. They stayed for Chocolate Cake and Coke, and I burned Faye a CD, and then we trooped to my aunt and uncle's house for dinner.

My aunt and my uncle gave me a bottle of Victoria Secret perfume, and a tube of Maybelline Lip Smooth. It was similar to my old new lip balm, which, after only a few weeks of purchasing it, got lost. Apparently it fell from my pocket while I was getting out of the car, since Meg saw the remains of the lippy when she arrived at school. Poor lip balm.

Dinner was okay, but the dessert was divine, because it was blueberry cheesecake. So even though I was full from le steak, I took a slice anyway. I love blueberry cheesecake. Honestly.

Monday, 26th December, Boxing Day

I think my mom, my brother and I just lounged around the house. Well, maybe not exactly, since my mom decided to clean the house. I slept the entire afternoon off, not waking up until six something. Had dinner, and then my mom and I went to the spa to have body massages. R. r. good.

Random Stuff

  • Sometime after Christmas, my keyboard acted up. The "S," "V," and "I" keys, along with "Shift" and "Tab" did not work properly, unless you really pound on them. After a few pounds, my hand was shaking already so I enlisted the help of my new lip balm to help me pound. But the point is... I HAVE A NEW KEYBOARD!! It's black, and it's really sleek and sexy. Vhoopee. Along with that is a new mousey-mousey, which is also black and it's optical, so it's shiny, and flashy, and sleek and sexy. Hurrah for adjectives!
  • I miss the beach.
  • I wish I had $548 right now.

So, despite greeting everyone a Happy Christmas...

... I am NOT happy.

Truth to be told, today wasn't such a bad day. I mean, it was Christmas Eve, and my mom took me and Nico out for shopping, and I bought loads of clothes, so that made me happy.

See, the thing is, there are only two people using Nokia handsets for mobile phones in our household, and those two people happened to share one charger, since I am completely spazzy and broke the charger that came with my phone. Today, my Yaya went home to her relatives and she brought the charger with her, and I ran out of batteries... so...

Good thing we had a spare phone in the house, so lucky me. BUT, the worse thing is that I've stored all my contacts in my mobile phone, not in my SIM card, so people have been texting me all night and I have absolutely NO idea who they are.

Signing off,
who is NOT happy, thank you very much.
Merry Christmas anyway.

Christmas Woes

*covers ears*

Oh, for crying out loud. WHAT did I just do to deserve this?

It was bad enough that I keep on hearing music from the television downstairs (Can anyone say "Don't Give Up On Us"?) that gets stuck into my head. Add those Christmas carolers who don't even sing, just rattle their rattles and scream at the top of their voice (Heck, and throw coins back at you if you give them two pesos. I mean, come on. We're ALL living in crisis.).

Now, I have to endure Alvin and the Chipmunks. For the thousandth time.

Damn it.

Don't get me wrong. I love Alvin and the Chipmunks (ish). It's just that, hearing them nonstop since seven in the morning is prone to drive you nutters.

*starts singing in mock-chipmunk voice (do you even call it a voice?!) *

Just hear those sleigh bells jingle-ing
Ring ting tingle-ing too
Come on, it's lovely weather
For a sleigh ride together with you

Outside the snow is falling
And friends are calling "You Hoo"
Come on, it's lovely weather
For a sleigh ride together with you

Giddy-yap giddy-yap giddy-yap let's go
Let's look at the show
We're riding in a wonderland of snow
Giddy-yap giddy-yap giddy-yap it's grand
Just holding your hand
We're gliding along with the song of a wintry fairy land

Our cheeks are nice and rosy and comfy cozy are we
We're snuggled up together like two birds of a feather would be
Let's take the road before us and sing a chorus or two
Come on, it's lovely weather
For a sleigh ride together with you

*screams like a demented madwoman*

I need more caffeine. Seriously.

As if I didn't have enough already! I mean, let me state the fact that, yes, I understand the fact that we need to work on some projects over the holidays, but does it have to involve me waking up at damnable six-thirty in the morning? My gosh.

I so downed a tall glass of iced vanilla coffee over our meeting, which seems to have perked me up. A little.

But right now? More caffeine. Oh, great. I'm turning into a caffeine addict.

Nicked the meme from Ate Judie.

Handwriting Analysis

You plan ahead, and are interested in beauty, design, outward appearance, and symmetry.
You are a shy, idealistic person who does not find it easy to have relationships, especially intimate ones.
You are affectionate, passionate, expressive, and future-oriented.
You are a talkative person, maybe even a busybody!
You enjoy life in your own way and do not depend on the opinions of others.

What does your handwriting say about YOU?

Apologies for my handwriting. It's hard to attempt to write your name when you're left handed, you know.

Nearly a week without blogetivity! My gulay, how did I manage to survive?

We had our exams this week, from Wednesday to Friday.

And. I. Survived.

*bows and bends to pick up flowers thrown at me*

I think I can safely say that I did better in these tests than the previous one last October. Even though I didn't study earlier, I studied longer and understood the lessons more. I'm fairly convinced I pulled it off, and I cannot wait until January to see the results of my exams.

On Friday afternoon, I went with Dixie and Princess to Ayala. Dixie was to buy her gift for her Manita, who is Abby. And me? I bought Daryl a pair of silver earrings. Sad to say, it wasn't from Colorstone, which is her favorite accessory store. It was from Silver Works. Fairly decent enough, it was a dangling butterfly earring.

Met up with Pearl and Faye in Penshoppe. They were too buying gifts for their manitas. We got separated, so Pearl and I shopped together and Dixie and Faye did the same.

It was raining like hell yesterday. I hitched a ride to Fuente with Pearl, then I got left with my own devices, so I took out my T.H.E. notebook and used it as a cover for my head, as I wait for the jeep to arrive. And the weather worsened. Had a headache when I came home, but good thing I didn't get the fever.

So today was our Christmas party. Started off with a Eucharistic celebration, then we went to our classrooms and played games while we waited for the KFC to arrive with our food. We also invited our student teachers, Teacher Mark and Teacher Janice, whom we teased together... so many kilig moments! Ha-ha! T. Mark even played the guitar and T. Janice sang Crazy For You. Woo-hoo! I have photos, but I don't have the USB port though, so can't upload 'em.

Guess what I gave everyone?

I am SORRY, but I am truly bankrupt and wasn't able to save up. Sahd. Fiona gave me this really cute bag-tag with my photo on it, and a box of Spongebob Squarepants chocolates (Which enabled Athena R to yell loudly, in my ear). Miggy and my manita, Rio (whose name I also picked!) gave me purses. Akkie had promised to give me a Love Actually DVD but attempts to burn the DVD was a failure, so she lent me her copy for the meantime and gave me a coin purse and wads of paper. Mileszy gave me a bookmark with my name on it and a note at the back. Daryl gave me this uber-cute cellphone chain shaped like a moon, with Colorstones on it. And Pearlaloo gave me a bottle of cologne! Yipee!

So. If I haven't given you a gift yet, just presume I'll hand it over next year when I get allowances back. Hee.

By the way, before I end this blogpost, let me just mourn over the demise of the Potterpuffs. I'm really gonna miss them, but I wish the creator, Naomi, the best.

Pre-Exams Blues

I'm feeling rather glum, for no reason at all (as usual), though I think this may be because it's the weekend prior to exams. Argh.

Homework is driving me nuts. Our teachers have been piling a lot of them this week! And speaking of school, I haven't redeemed myself in some waterloo subjects yet because I haven't met some of our teachers this week. Most of them are participating in the Days of Wonder, Seasons of Love concert, which is a concert for a noble cause. They're using the profits for the renovation of the auditorium and for scholarship funds.

I watched the concert twice: the first one was the matinee with the entire department, and yesterday, because I got a P500 ticket and it was a shame to let it go to waste. I have to admit though, yesterday's showing was better than the matinee because they've added a number which we haven't seen in the matinee, plus the darkness of the evening made the lighting stand out better.

I felt half-bad that I wasn't in the concert, because I really wanted to, but it's all for the best. The participants had to go to school today and catch up with our current lessons so that they won't fail the exams. Too bad for Angela, Dixie, Breanna and Stephanie, four girls who are all dear to me.

Speaking of which, I TOTALLY MISSED THESE GUYS! I so miss Angela, who is my seatmate and tends to whack me in the nearest body part whenever she's having a fit of laughter. I saw her yesterday before the concert, and she hugged me so tight, and even lifted me from the ground. I miss you too, Shalala.

I miss Dixie, one of my constant companions during break times. I miss your obsession about Hale, even though I would never admit it to you and the only possibility you'll know of this is if you read my blog.

I miss Breanna, who I always talk to in assemblies and line formations. I miss your funny stories, even though sometimes you talk so fast that I could hardly catch up.

I miss Stephanie, my love. I miss having someone to talk to about problems, always asking me how I am. :(

Prior to the concert, Fiona, Meg, Gabrielle and I went to Mother's in St. Patrick Square at around five to eat an early dinner. Fiona and I were hungry because we ate our lunch at recess and had nothing for lunch. So we ate, and then the door opens and our principal walks in to eat there also.

After dinner, we went all the way to Mango to grab my glasses, because heaven knows I have such a bad eyesight, and who do I bump on the way? Ate Rina! It was rather dark while Fiona and I headed down, and then I see this couple walking towards us, and they got nearer, and the next thing I knew, someone screamed, "Patricia!"

Needless to say, I was frozen for one second, then I let out a shriek. Honestly, I did that. And I go, "OMG!" and gave her a hug that could easily rival Angela's, except that no one carried the other. ;) She was with her boyfriend, and they were both there from Singapore to watch the concert too!

After exchanging numbers, went to get glasses and spritz some cologne, which prompted Fiona to say, "Um, we're not seeing anyone. We're just watching a concert." But heaven knows I can't deal not smelling good. Ish.

Since we were silver sponsors, we got good seats right at the middle, but there was this overly huge guy in front of me, and I kept complaining to Fiona and Sherry that I can't see a thing, but luckily the guy moved a few seats to the left because he was taping the concert. Go me!

The concert ended half past eight. Fiona and I walked with Gabrielle to the back gate, then Fiona and I walked towards the front gate to wait for our rides. Mine arrived at a quarter to nine, but unfortunately, the AC was broken so I had to roll down the windows to be able to breathe. I spotted my teachers who were participants in the concert, so I gave them a little wave too.

Drove to McDonalds to buy Nico chicken. I bought a McFlurry and then a guy selling pirated DVDs went to us. Easily saw Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and I bought it (well, my mom did, since I was bankrupt), despite having said that I will buy the original. Haha. Anyway, I could just save a peso a day, since the DVD will be released next April. For sure, I'll have enough pesos by then to buy a copy! Hehe!

Woke up early this morning because Charmagne and Athena R. were coming over to do our project. We accomplished a lot, even while we laughing at Athena's cellphone, which is so broken. We had lunch-y lunch-y and then they left to attend Christmas parties.

Spent the afternoon watching a movie and pigging out (as usual). Darn... I just realized I could've studied. What a waste of a Saturday! I'll study tomorrow... wait, we're going Christmas shopping tomorrow. Oh no. I'll study in the evening... no, I'm doing my homework then! Ah, I'll just have to wake up early and study. There!

Accomplishment of the Week: Yelling "Shut up!" at the dog, Ranger. Hey, you don't see that everyday, don't you? Yeah, well, whatever. It's my accomplishment for the week, after all.

Gonna go to bed... night-y night-y. Hugs and lots of love. Feeling much happier now (ish).

Christmas Wishlist

I don't want a lot for Christmas
There is just one thing I need
I don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is you

Christmas is really fast approaching. Go to the malls, and you hear Christmas carols blaring from their speakers. Go to National, and you find yourself covered with Christmas decorations. Go to my home, and be blinded by the lights of our Christmas tree. Go to my classroom, and be amazed with our two tiny Christmas trees.

You get the idea.

I don't want a lot for Christmas
There is just one thing I need
And I don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree

Obviously, being the materialistic person that I am, this isn't true. :p For proof, check out the title of this blog post.

Before I go enumerate what I want for Christmas though, I have to say: I love making wishlists!

  • Blue contacts
  • Colorstone stuff, like earrings, rings, bracelets, necklaces, and hair pieces. They're really pretty!
  • A copy of Memoirs of a Geisha
  • A copy of My Sassy Girl and Windstruck
  • A copy of The Princess Diaries IV
  • Copies of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants books
  • A Canon digital camera
  • A guitar
  • A hardbound copy of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
  • A hardbound copy of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
  • Okay, come to think of it, ALL the books I mentioned in my birthday wishlist earlier
  • A huge corkboard
  • A huge stuffed toy
  • A huge Spongebob Squarepants stuffed toy
  • iPOD!
  • A Kelly Clarkson CD
  • Meg to write me another Remus-Tonks fanfic.
  • More perfumes and colognes! Seriously, the haul I got for my birthday wasn't enough
  • New clothes
  • A new handbag
  • New shoes
  • An original CD of the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire soundtrack
  • An original CD of the Love, Actually soundtrack
  • An original DVD of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
  • An original DVD of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
  • An original DVD of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
  • An original DVD of Love, Actually
  • Set of The Chronicles of Narnia
  • A silver anklet
  • A suit jacket
  • Undies with cartoon characters.

Anything but bloody photo frames, or bloody figurines, because I just wouldn't know what to do with them. People who know me well knows what makes me happy.

I had a very Tonks-ish day yesterday.

I was late, because this stupid deserted car was blocking our stupid driveway, I forgot my stupid lines in English, I got my stupid ranking, I bonked my head on the top of the stupid jeepney, I banged my leg in said stupid jeepney, which has now turned into a stupid bruise, I got nearly hit by a stupid basketball, I tripped over my stupid skirt as I was trying to remove them, AND I lost my stupid periodic table.

Ah, stupidity.

It finally feels good that I ranted about these. Yay.

I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
Baby, all I want for Christmas is you
All I want for Christmas is you, baby

xoxo and a whole lot of Christmassy love from me!

currently feels not in the mood to blog

Gabrielle threatened to knock me out if I don't update my blog soon.

But I don't have anything interesting to blog about. Geez.

Today, we had our annual recollection. This year, it was held in USC-TC. And there's nothing more that I can say.

See, this blogging business today's getting nowhere. I'm just simply too exhausted to think coherently.

Well, okay, there are a lot of things going on in my mind. It's like a storm in there, but sometimes, don't you get that feeling that you don't want to voice them out because of some reason?
